PSSN’s 9th Annual Scientific Conference
The Philippine Society for the Study of Nature, Inc. (PSSN) will be holding its 9th Annual Scientific Conference with the theme “Nature in Crisis: A look at the social responsibility of universities, media, government, private sector and grassroots” at the MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, Iligan City, Philippines on April 28 – May 1, 2009. The four-day activity will be highlighted by best paper presentations, paper and poster presentations, business session and tour to nature spots in Iligan City.
Recognizing the important role of your institution in advocating nature conservation and protection, PSSN invites support to allow PSSN members/non-members, teachers, staff and students in related institutions to participate in this year’s convention as paper presenter/ participant in this conference. Presenters are encouraged to submit research abstracts or full papers for consideration for publication in the Journal of Nature Studies not later than March 21, 2009, preferably those that have not been presented to any national and international conferences. Papers are to be submitted preferably by e-mail or if by speedmail, include a CD copy of the manuscripts.
PSSN also invites undergraduate and secondary/elementaryr school students to participate in the annual competition for the Best Undergraduate and High School/elementary Research (basic and applied) in the field of life sciences, environment, and social sciences). The papers can be presented in both oral and poster categories. A Panel of reviewers and judges will evaluate the finalists for the competition. Cash Awards and Plaques of Recognition for both the student researcher/s and adviser will be given.
The conference registration fee is inclusive of meals, snacks, copies of 2 issues of the journal of Nature Studies, nature news and conference kit.
