Research Laboratories

Condensed Matter Physics Lab (NIP, UP Diliman)
The Laboratory's prime research thrust since it's inception has been on the fabrication and characterization of cuprate-based high-Tc superconductors. In 1998, the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory began its serious research thrust on semiconductors.

Instrumentation Physics Lab (NIP, UP Diliman)
The Instrumentation Physics Lab of the National Institute of Physics is doing research in the field of instrumentation and optics. In particular, the group is interested in the following research areas: applied optics, computational physics, nonlinear optics, pattern recognization, and signal processing.

Liquid Crystal Lab (NIP, UP Diliman)
The NIP Liquid Crystal Group is doing research in the areas of: Fabrication of Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals (PDLCs), Synthesis of Cholesteric Liquid Crystals, Instrumentation Development for Characterization of LC Systems, Optics of LC Systems, and Biological Applications of LC Systems.

Photonics Research Lab (NIP, UP Diliman)
The Laser Physics Group was established by the National Institute of Physics to serve as the Philippine national center for research, development and advanced manpower training in the area of lasers and laser applications. It was tasked to spearhead the development of high-impact laser physics research capabilities of the country.

Plasma Physics Lab (NIP, UP Diliman)
The Plasma Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Physics in U.P. Diliman was established to experiment with and develop modest plasma systems in order to acquire practical knowledge and skills to better employ technologies based on plasma physics.

Science and Technology Advisory Council - Japan Chapter - an alliance of engineers and scientists formed in response to Executive Order No. 239, which reorganized the Department of Foreign Affairs mandating the Secretary of Foreign Affairs the authority to create advisory boards and committees composed of expatriate Filipinos as he may deem necessary to assist him and provide advice in the formulation of substantive policies.
