Research

EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF PHILIPPINE COMMUNITIES IN GREECE

The study tackles the state of affairs of the education of Philippine immigrants' children in Greece, an issue that is discounted in Greek academe for lack of interest and limited resources. This is a timely and important ethnographic research considering the large, growing, and settling number of Philippine migrants in Greece. The study examines the primary learning environments of these children by simultaneously dissecting sociological concepts (migration, social exclusion, integration) and pedagogical frameworks (bilingual/multilingual channels, multicultural/anti-racist education, critcal pedagogy).
