Purugganan, Michael D.
Michael Purugganan is currently an associate professor
of genetics at North Carolina State University, working in the field
of plant evolutionary genomics. He obtained his B.S. at the University
of the Philippines at Diliman, his M.A. at Columbia University in
New York and his Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. He spent two
years as an Alfred P. Sloan Postdoctoral Fellow at the University
of California at San Diego before starting his faculty position
at NC State in 1996. He is the recipient of an Alfred P. Sloan Young
Investigator Award, a Sigma Xi Research Award and an NC State Faculty
Research Award.
