Secretaria, Millicent Ilagan

Millicent I. Secretaria is a Science Research Specialist II of the Agronomy & Soils Division, Phil. Coconut Authority-Davao Research Center, Bago Oshiro, Davao City and a Career Scientist I under the Career Scientific System of Dept. of Science & Technology - Civil Service Commission. She finished her BS in Agric. major in Stat. at UPLB, Los Banos, Laguna in 1977 and MS in Plant Breeding in 1987 at UPLB thru the sponsorship of SEARCA Graduate Scholarship Grant. She was previously connected with the Breeding & Genetics Div. at PCA-Zamboaga Research Center, San Ramon, Zamboanga City for 11 years (1978-89).

She is a member of several academic organization and societies,namely:

She is a recipient of several achievement awards:

• GAWAD PUNO NG BUHAY as Mananaliksik ng Taon (RESEARCHER OF THE YEAR) 1994 AND 2001 given by PCA management
• 2001 GAWAD SAKA AWARD as Outstanding Agricultural Scientist for Region XI ( Southern Mindanao)
• 2002 Lingkod Bayan Award Nominee (given by Civil Service Commission)
• Recognition Award -given by PCA-DRC during the 30th anniversary of PCA-DRC, Feb. 6, 1996.
• Achievement Award - given by the southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Center for Graduate Studies and Research in Agriculture (SEAMEO-SEARCA) having granted SEAMEO-SEARCA scholarship and having satisfactorily completed advanced study leading to degree of MS in Plant Breeding at UPLB, Los Banos ,Laguna in 1987.
